The client is one of the fastest-growing brokerage firms in Canada, with decades of market presence. The company manages over $20B in assets and opens thousands of accounts every year. It provides clients with low fee trading solutions as an alternative to the big bank-owned brokerage firms. As a leader and innovator in financial services, the company offers a wide range of investment accounts, allowing their clients to trade stocks, options, mutual funds, ETFs, bonds, and more.

The client, a rapidly growing brokerage firm in Canada with over $20B in assets under administration, was facing a challenge with its trading solution. The existing mobile app, which was the core of its brokerage business, was not meeting the increasing needs of its two main user categories: investors and advanced traders. The app offered the same functionality for both types of users, making it too complicated for ordinary investors and insufficient for professional traders. The client decided to replace it with two separate mobile apps to better cater to the needs of these different user groups. Additionally, the company was looking to expand its market reach and needed a reliable technology partner to launch new solutions.

The client partnered with N-iX, a technology solutions provider, to transform their existing application and develop new solutions. N-iX developed two separate apps from scratch, one for investors and another for advanced traders, taking into account the specific needs of each user group. They also created a Proof of Concept (PoC) for implementing new functionality required by the client for smartphones. To ensure library customization, custom plugins were created, including iOS and Android wrappers for Biometric SDK. A test automation framework was built from scratch to enable simultaneous testing and development processes, speeding up time-to-market. N-iX also developed new products following the client's development guidelines and design concepts, ensuring compliance with security standards and accessibility requirements.
