About The Customer
DatabaseUSA.com is a leading provider of business and personal mailing lists, email lists, sales leads, and related database products. The company's lists and online products are used by customers large and small for a variety of purposes, including marketing, analytics, customer profiling, background checks, business verifications, and employee queries. The company's products have been highlighted on the television news program “60 Minutes.” DatabaseUSA is one of the few database providers that still compiles its own complete databases from original sources, performing rigorous verifications online, via its call center, and by way of proprietary algorithms, resulting in greater than 95 percent data accuracy.
The Challenge
DatabaseUSA, a leading provider of business and personal mailing lists, email lists, sales leads, and related database products, was facing a challenge in maintaining the quality and accuracy of its data. The company was dealing with raw data from hundreds of different sources and multiple directories, including data from utility companies and call data from its call center. To manage this, the company had to hire individuals with high-level data expertise, which was costly. Moreover, every time new data was introduced, the company had to develop a significant amount of new, low-level code to get the data into its database successfully and accurately. This process was not only expensive but also difficult to scale.
The Solution
DatabaseUSA decided to use Alteryx Analytics for its data management needs. Alteryx provided the company with the necessary ETL and data blending capabilities. The solution was able to handle tasks like standardization and duplicates effectively. Alteryx was used to standardize, clean, and de-dupe the data from the different sources, and then bring it into DatabaseUSA's own database to identify which records were truly new. The Alteryx team also supported DatabaseUSA's unconventional deployment requirements to a hosted server environment due to data sensitivity issues.

Vodafone Hosted On AWS
Vodafone found that traffic for the applications peak during the four-month period when the international cricket season is at its height in Australia. During the 2011/2012 cricket season, 700,000 consumers downloaded the Cricket Live Australia application. Vodafone needed to be able to meet customer demand, but didn’t want to invest in additional resources that would be underutilized during cricket’s off-season.
