About The Customer
IT Weapons is a Canadian company that specializes in secure cloud solutions and managed IT services. As a subsidiary of Konica Minolta, the company has established itself as a trusted advisor in the field of risk reduction and technology infrastructure maintenance cost reduction. IT Weapons offers industry-leading expertise in various areas, including virtual infrastructure, application delivery, network security, storage, and backup strategies. The company generates client reports quarterly, a process that had been time-consuming and semi-manual. The company was looking for a solution to automate this process and provide real-time, dynamic reporting to its clients.
The Challenge
IT Weapons, a Canadian leader in secure cloud solutions and managed IT services, was facing a challenge with their client reporting process. The company was generating quarterly reports for clients using a semi-manual process that was time-consuming and labor-intensive. This process was costing the company the equivalent of one full-time employee per year. The static nature of these reports limited the clients' ability to plan effectively. The data in the reports aged quickly, but the effort required to generate the reports limited the frequency at which they could be produced. IT Weapons needed to find a Business Intelligence (BI) solution that could automate their entire process and create dashboards that clients could access at any time.
The Solution
IT Weapons partnered with Dundas, a BI Vendor, to address their challenge. Dundas custom-built a demo that was presented to the teams impacted by the current reporting efforts. Both organizations worked together on a cost-model, and Dundas provided IT Weapons with an ROI model that was compelling. Dundas BI provided IT Weapons with the flexibility required to create a unique solution. It allowed IT Weapons to scale deployment and hardware to multiple clients with ease. Dundas BI is built with mobile-first in mind using HTML5, which removed the need for IT Weapons to utilize additional apps and downloads. Dundas BI was integrated into their platform to help build a branded, client analytics portal. IT Weapons utilized Dundas BI’s multi-tenancy deployment scenario allowing them to easily create and manage clients, which are isolated from each other under a single deployment.
