About The Customer
Calligo is a data service provider committed to delivering reliable and secure services to its customers. The company places a high priority on safeguarding sensitive customer data. However, during the rapid transition to remote working in 2020, Calligo found itself targeted by an increasing number of sophisticated phishing emails that its existing security tools were unable to stop. This led to the company seeking a more robust and effective solution to protect its digital ecosystem and keep its sensitive data safe.
The Challenge
Calligo, a data service provider, was facing a significant challenge in safeguarding sensitive customer data from phishing attacks and spoofing emails. The situation was exacerbated during the rapid transition to remote working in 2020, which saw an increase in the number of sophisticated phishing emails that their existing security tools were unable to stop. These included fake invoices sent to the accounting team. While their legacy tools were effective at stopping spam and other common threats, they failed to catch the novel attacks increasingly targeting the workforce. Calligo's Chief Information Security Officer, Mark Herridge, acknowledged that their existing email protection had gaps, particularly in dealing with phishing and spoof messaging. The company needed an email security solution that could provide better visibility across their vast digital ecosystem and stop advanced email-borne threats that would otherwise go unnoticed.
The Solution
Calligo decided to extend Darktrace's coverage to the email realm with Antigena Email, an autonomous AI cyber security solution. Antigena Email takes surgical action to contain in-progress threats within seconds. It works by learning what is 'normal' for every user and detects anomalous emails that fall outside this learned 'pattern of life'. This contextual understanding of all email traffic allows the AI to spot advanced attacks that signature-based tools miss. When cyber-attacks arise, Darktrace takes autonomous and proportionate action to stop the threat while allowing business functions to continue as usual. Antigena Email was installed in five minutes, cloud-delivered, and effective within hours, protecting Calligo's workforce from a range of email threats. In addition to protecting against novel and sophisticated email threats, Darktrace's Cyber AI Analyst helped augment the security team at Calligo by launching autonomous investigations at machine speed into every security event.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
