About The Customer
Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) is the Las Vegas Strip’s first brand new resort in more than a decade. Built on the grounds of what was once the iconic Stardust resort and casino, RWLV was conceived from the outset to champion sustainability while serving the larger mission of bringing world-class hospitality to guests. The resort comprises more than seven million square feet of mixed-use space spread out across 88 acres. The 66-story main tower is the centerpiece of a structure that includes 3,506 hotel rooms along with millions of square feet of event space, gaming, dining, retail, and other entertainment. Outside, a pool complex sprawls more than five acres, and directly above these luxurious water features towers one of the largest LED displays in the U.S.: a 100,000-square-foot digital facade.
The Challenge
Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) was conceived with sustainability as a driving force. The developers aimed to create a new benchmark for sustainable hospitality on the Las Vegas Strip. The challenge was to develop an existing construction project into Las Vegas’ newest megaresort while ensuring sustainability. The resort was built on the grounds of what was once the iconic Stardust resort and casino. It was designed to champion sustainability while providing world-class hospitality to guests. The resort comprises more than seven million square feet of mixed-use space spread out across 88 acres, making remote management capability crucial for efficient operation.
The Solution
Before construction began, RWLV partnered with Schneider Electric to incorporate EcoStruxure Building Operation to automate daily tasks and provide operational visibility. EcoStruxure Building Operation, an integrated platform of building management and analytics tools, helps Resorts World Las Vegas maximize its energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy integration. The open architecture of EcoStruxure for Hotels allows RWLV to mesh seamlessly with other programs to control a multitude of parameters throughout the property. The platform is used to monitor hundreds of thousands of data sources throughout the property at any given moment and control the HVAC system. The ability to have a tablet in hands while working on a piece of equipment is priceless. The analytics side of the platform can help RWLV ensure that the decisions they’re making today will help them in the future.
Operational Impact
  • Streamlined monitoring of hundreds of thousands of data sources
  • Reliable power across a mixed-use facility of more than 7M square feet
  • Seamless integration of disparate third-party systems
  • Remote monitoring and management allow the team more time to prioritize the guest experience
  • The ability to better respond to challenges
Quantitative Benefit
  • 30% energy savings over baseline
  • LEED Gold certification
